Creating a limited edition craft beer brand experience

Wild Deer Co. approached Clueflow to help create a distinctive identity for a new limited edition beer range designed to test new flavours and engage a wider audience.

While the flavour concepts had already been selected, the brand needed a strong creative direction, packaging identity, and product marketing strategy capable of standing out within a highly competitive craft beer market.

The project focused on building a visually memorable product range that felt premium, modern, and unique while aligning with the Wild Deer Co. brand.

The Challenge

Creating packaging that stood out on the shelf

The goal was to create a product identity that would immediately capture attention while visually differentiating each flavour within the range.

As the launch was initially planned as a limited 2-year release, the packaging needed to make a strong impact from day one while maintaining a premium and distinctive appearance across the entire collection.

Wild Deer Co. also wanted a product name and creative direction that would tie the range together while giving each flavour its own recognisable personality.

What We Did

Product strategy, packaging & visual identity

We started by researching the target market, analysing competitors, and understanding the positioning opportunities for the new product range.

From there, we developed the product marketing strategy and introduced the product name “Dark Horizon” to unify the collection and strengthen its shelf appeal.

We then created multiple design directions before developing the final selected packaging concept across all three flavours — Pear & Coconut, Cherry & Pomegranate, and Apple & Blueberry.

Alongside the beer can packaging, we also designed matching label artwork and branded coaster designs to create a cohesive customer experience across all touchpoints.

The final designs combined bold typography, atmospheric landscapes, and flavour-led colour palettes to create a premium and instantly recognisable craft beer range.

The Result

A successful launch with ongoing collaboration

The Dark Horizon range launched as a limited edition product and quickly became a strong success for Wild Deer Co., leading to the collection being extended for an additional year beyond the original launch plan.

The packaging performed exceptionally well during the market testing phase, helping increase product appeal, strengthen customer engagement, and elevate the overall presentation of the brand.

Due to the success of the project, Wild Deer Co. continues to work with Clueflow on ongoing packaging and creative design projects for future product ranges.
